The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, Inc. evolved from the desire of like-minded individuals learning and working together to improve the quality of health care in the State of Wisconsin. The spirit of the Collaborative is reflected in the consensus-building model used to foster new and expansive patterns of thinking to drive improvement in our healthcare organizations, and is reflected in these principles:

Trust: Reporting Entities do not use performance data for market advantage or purposes other than the advancement of the Collaborative's mission

Participation: Regularly contribute to and/or participate in dialogue, capacity-building and the identification and sharing of best practices, striving for the highest standards of quality

Inclusiveness: Conduct all deliberations and make decisions by methods that reasonably represent all relevant and affected parties

Shared Responsibility: Fulfill the Mission of the Collaborative through commitment and participation that enhances the capacity for individual growth and institutional improvement

Openness: Transcend competitive and intellectual boundaries and roles that limit or diminish learning

Adaptive self-governance: Practice concepts and processes that encourage adaptability, diversity, flexibility and innovation

Intellectual Output: Use findings generated by the measures in ways that most benefit all in the Collaborative and lead to improved healthcare outcomes for all who seek healthcare services in the State of Wisconsin

Acknowledgment: Openly and fairly acknowledge intellectual contributions to concepts, theories and practices, both from within and from outside the Collaborative

Transparency: Open sharing of data and processes among members and public
