The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) participates in a range of healthcare performance measurement and quality initiatives at the state, regional, and national levels.

Commonwealth Study Demonstrates "Public Reporting Matters"

With support from The Commonwealth Fund, researchers evaluated how publicly reporting healthcare performance information through WCHQ has impacted the quality of ambulatory care in Wisconsin.   More

Partnership for Healthcare Payment Reform (PHPR)

WCHQ actively participates in the Partnership for Healthcare Payment Reform (PHPR), which is piloting new payment models designed to reduce cost and improve the quality of healthcare in Wisconsin.   More

Wisconsin State Health Information Network (WISHIN)

WCHQ is a founding member of the Wisconsin State Health Information Network (WISHIN), an independent non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the benefits of widespread, secure, interoperable health information technology to patients and caregivers throughout Wisconsin.   More

2008 — Present

Network for Health Equity in Wisconsin (NHEW)

WCHQ is collaborating on the Network for Health Equity in Wisconsin (NHEW) initiative to create informational infrastructure to monitor the impact of policy change on disparities in population health and address the determinants of these disparities for specific health conditions.   More

Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS, formerly PQRI)

WCHQ serves as an approved registry for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) program, allowing healthcare providers to easily report quality outcomes and qualify for PQRS financial incentives.   More

2009 — 2010

Diabetes Value Metric Pilot

WCHQ joined with the Wisconsin Health Information Organization (WHIO) to develop, test, and produce a value metric for diabetes management, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through Aligning Forces for Quality.   More

Improving Performance in Practice (IPIP)

WCHQ guided the participation of small Wisconsin healthcare practices in the Improving Performance in Practice (IPIP) initiative, providing these practices with the tools, support, coaching, and collaborative learning opportunities to evaluate their performance and undertake quality improvement activities.    More

2007 — 2008

Commonwealth Fund Case Study of WCHQ

With support from The Commonwealth Fund, WCHQ became the subject of an in-depth qualitative study of its development and impact. Ann Lennarson Greer, PhD of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee conducted research and authored the report, Embracing Accountability: Physician Leadership, Public Reporting, and Teamwork in the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality.    More

Better Quality Information to Improve Care for Medicare Beneficiaries (BQI)

WCHQ served as one of six regional collaboratives participating in the Better Quality Information to Improve Care for Medicare Beneficiaries (BQI) Project, launched by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The BQI Project assessed the issues and benefits of combining Medicare and regional quality data to derive and report performance measures.    More
