Measure Types & SourcesThe WCHQ Performance & Progress Report features different types of measures from multiple sources. Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ)The WCHQ Performance & Progress Report features ambulatory care and hospital efficiency measures that are exclusive to WCHQ. Physicians, data analysts and quality specialists from the WCHQ membership have developed ambulatory care specifications that capture all patients and all payers. Also, with support from the Wisconsin Hospital Association and The Alliance, WCHQ prepares hospital efficiency measures that report the financial and quality results of inpatient/hospital admissions. Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS)The WCHQ Performance & Progress Report features patient experience measures developed by the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) program. Administered by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, this public-private initiative creates standardized surveys that ask consumers (patients) to report on and evaluate their experiences with healthcare. Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS)The WCHQ Performance & Progress Report features health plan measures from the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), developed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. More than 90 percent of U.S. health plans use HEDIS measures to evaluate performance on important dimensions of care and service. The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS)The WCHQ Performance & Progress Report features measures developed by The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). This society supports cardiothoracic surgeons in providing the highest quality patient care through education, research, and advocacy. Wisconsin Hospital AssociationWCHQ member hospitals regularly report quality data to the CheckPoint website, maintained by the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA). WCHQ and WHA have integrated their quality reporting and improvement work to reduce duplication for their shared membership. CheckPoint measures are a combination of patient experience, clinical process and clinical outcomes measures for patients that have received care in a hospital setting. |
