Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality Receives Health Transformation Award from The Alliance

May 31, 2017

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) was honored as one of the 2017 Health Transformation Award Winners from The Alliance during its annual seminar on May 16th at the Monona Terrace.

WCHQ was recognized for meeting two of the award criteria: improving the quality of care using a systematic, process-oriented approach that can be adapted and implemented by other organizations, and collaborating with other organizations to develop innovative solutions to significant health care problems.

As noted in the event program “The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) is pushing the envelope to measure, publicly report and improve the quality of care for the people of Wisconsin. WCHQ has made it a priority to meet the needs of purchasers and consumers by making changes to measures in their portfolio to accommodate the interests of purchasers. They also have committed to adopting measures prioritized by a group of purchasers and payers. To broaden their efforts they are now exploring the possibility of including delivery systems in other states.”

Chris Queram, WCHQ’s president and CEO is grateful for the recognition from The Alliance. “Being publicly recognized for the work of WCHQ and our members to make care better and more affordable in Wisconsin is very gratifying. The Alliance plays a vital role in bringing employers and health systems together and we are very pleased to receive this award.”

In addition to WCHQ, Gundersen Health System, OpenNotes, Miniature Precision Components and State Representative John Nygren were also honored during the event.

Founded in 2003, the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) is a voluntary, non-profit consortium of health systems, medical groups and clinics committed to using the public reporting of comparative measures of performance to catalyze improvements in the quality and affordability of healthcare in our state.
