WCHQ Welcomes Kelly Court as Chief Quality Officer

August 20, 2010

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) is pleased to announce that Kelly Court, MBA, CPHQ, has accepted the position of Chief Quality Officer (CQO) for the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) and the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA).

Kelly comes to this newly created position from the Great River Health System in Burlington, Iowa, where she has been serving as the Vice President — Quality. Prior to this, Kelly served in leadership positions in quality measurement / improvement at Luther-Midelfort and Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. Kelly holds Bachelor's (Medical Technology) and Master's (Business) degrees from UW — Eau Claire.

As Chief Quality Officer, Kelly will provide leadership in leveraging the shared vision and commitment of WCHQ and WHA to improving the quality and cost of health care through performance measurement, public reporting, and collaborative learning. Kelly brings to the position a strong background in ambulatory and acute care delivery, coupled with operational experience in using performance measures to drive improvements in care systems, processes, and outcomes. This perspective will be critically important as we begin the design of measurement strategies that support the move toward integrated systems of care (ambulatory, acute and post-acute care), episode-based measures of both quality and cost, fulfillment of meaningful use requirements, and payment reform.

Kelly will assume her new responsibilities in late September.
