WCHQ Welcomes Dr. Mark Kaufman as Clinical Adviser
December 6, 2013
The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) is pleased to announce that Mark Kaufman, MD, has agreed to join WCHQ in the newly created role of clinical adviser. In this part-time position, Mark will provide strategic advice in advancing several of our major priorities for 2014, including measure alignment, expansion in the reporting of specialty measures, and individual physician performance measurement.
Mark retired earlier this year after a long and varied career with Dean Health System. He spent a number of years as a practicing physician within Dean Clinic, before moving into executive leadership first as the chief medical officer for Dean Health Plan and later as the senior vice president (SVP) and chief medical officer for Dean Clinic. During his tenure as SVP, Mark also served on the WCHQ Board of Directors and as chair of our Measurement Advisory Committee.
All of us at WCHQ consider ourselves fortunate to be able to work with Mark as our clinical adviser. We have long admired his strategic acumen and deep knowledge of the role that comparative measurement can play in motivating physicians and their teams to improve performance.
