Wisconsin Collaborative for Quality Healthcare

Quality Improvement Update

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality is facilitating quality improvement activities in three targeted areas: colorectal cancer, diabetes, and hypertension.

Our Quality Improvement Steering Teams - composed of clinical, quality, and operational leaders from Wisconsin healthcare provider organizations as well as other key stakeholders - are carrying out these quality improvement activities in each targeted area:

  1. Establish an improvement goal for our membership
  2. Identify strategies (i.e., best practice interventions) to help provider organizations achieve the improvement goal
  3. Develop a toolkit of resources to support provider organizations in implementing the recommended improvement strategies

The steering teams will present their goals, strategies, and toolkits at the Statewide Quality Improvement Event on June 16 from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison. We encourage you and your colleagues to attend! Last year, the event drew more than 200 attendees and it is hoped that even more attend this year. As stated by Theresa Mees, COO, "It is our strategic goal to have 90% of the WCHQ member organizations participate in our performance improvement activities, and attending the Statewide Quality Improvement Event is the perfect way to get started."

We appreciate the collaborative spirit and expert contributions of our steering team members, along with the strategic vision of our Quality Planning Committee guiding the design and roll out of this quality improvement program to ensure that it meets our members' needs.
