Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality

Quality Improvement Teams

Quality Improvement is Core to Transforming Health Care

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) works closely with its members and stakeholders to help them make care better, more affordable and safer.

It starts with collecting data and using that information to determine what process or systems needs to be improved and then, WCHQ helps members learn the skills that are necessary to implement and monitor a quality improvement program or project.

Quality Improvements at WCHQ

With member input, WCHQ organizes its quality improvement work into topic-specific areas and creates an Improvement Team for each comprised of members and select stakeholders.

The Improvement Teams

WCHQ facilitates collaborative learning groups focused on improving a particular health topic. Members can participate on multiple improvement teams. Participants benefits from networking with peers, education from subject matter experts, and rapid-cycle improvement work. WCHQ staff uses group learning and collective impact methods to support members’ practice transformation goals and drive improvement across the state. All members are welcome to participate on any of the teams. Teams typically meet monthly with virtual participation available. Teams are currently in place on the following topics:

  • Adolescent and Child Health: WCHQ is supporting members in their efforts to improve topics specific to this population, including: immunizations, well visits and developmental screening.
  • Behavioral Health: WCHQ is supporting members efforts to integrate behavioral health into primary care, increase depression screening rates, and related topics.
